Send a Package Without Sending a Person
A licensed taxi can carry a parcel with no passenger on board. It is the fastest way to get something across Melbourne when a courier cannot collect until tomorrow and the item cannot wait.
The driver collects from the sender’s door and drives straight to the recipient, with no other drops on the way. We run 24 hours a day, every day, so a parcel can go at 6am before a meeting or late at night after the shops have shut.
You pay the fare for the journey the parcel makes, calculated the same way as any trip: a flag fall, a rate per kilometre, and the toll. There is no separate handling charge for the item travelling alone.

Tell us the size and weight when you book. Anything that fits in a sedan boot is straightforward. Larger or heavier items need the SUV or a maxi, so we need to know in advance rather than discovering it at the door.
What a Parcel Run Costs
A parcel is priced on the same formula as a passenger trip. By day that is a $5.40 flag fall plus $2.10 for every kilometre of the real driving route, with higher evening and weekend night rates, a minimum fare of $18, and tolls added only if the quickest way uses one. There is no separate courier rate and nothing per item.

- Medication or an overnight bag left at home. Footscray to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Parkville, 6.5 km: $19 – $23.

- A trade part that stops a job. Dandenong South to a workshop in Clayton, 18.5 km: $44 – $55.
- Stock or samples between two sites. Laverton North to Port Melbourne, 17.1 km: $39 – $49.
You get the exact number before the driver leaves, not after the delivery, and it does not move if the traffic does. Evening and weekend night runs cost more, and the fare estimator works out any run at the time you choose.
Taxi or Courier
A courier van usually carries many parcels on one run, so yours waits its turn between drops, and same day pickups often close in the morning. A taxi carries only your item, leaves when you book it, and drives straight there. For one urgent item across town, that is the quicker choice.
A courier is still better value for many boxes, regular bulk runs, interstate parcels or anything that can wait until tomorrow. If you send by taxi often, a business account puts every run on one monthly invoice.
What We Cannot Carry
