How a fixed price is worked out
Your fare is calculated on the real driving distance to the terminal, then locked in. Nothing is added afterwards. Tolls are already included, which is where most airport fares quietly grow.

Why a locked in price instead of a printed rate card
Most Melbourne airport taxi sites show you a fixed table of suburb rates, worked out once and printed the same for every address in that suburb. That is fine as a rough guide, but it cannot account for exactly where you are, which can be the difference between a short run and a much longer one within the same postcode.
This page uses the same real distance formula live, calculated from your actual pickup address, not a rounded zone average. The price you lock in through the booking form above matches your real trip and pickup time, and once it is locked in, traffic and tolls do not change what you pay.
Which airport are you flying from?
Melbourne has two commercial airports and they are nowhere near each other. Booking a fixed price for the wrong one is the single most expensive mistake a traveller makes, so it is worth thirty seconds with your ticket before you book.
Melbourne Airport, also called Tullamarine or MEL, sits about 23 km north west of the city and handles almost all domestic and international flights. Every fare quoted on this site defaults to Tullamarine unless you tell us otherwise, and the price covers whichever terminal you need, T1 through T4.
Avalon Airport, or AVV, is roughly 55 km south west of the city near Lara, between Melbourne and Geelong. It is a smaller airport used by a handful of domestic carriers, and it is a genuinely different trip. From most of Melbourne the drive is longer than the run to Tullamarine, so the fare is different. We run Avalon transfers at a fixed price the same way, you just need to say Avalon when you book so the quote is built on the right distance.
Essendon Fields, or MEB, is the third one people mean and it is only 8 km from the CBD. It runs charter, corporate and air ambulance flights rather than the airlines, so if your booking came from a charter operator or your employer rather than from an airline site, check whether you are going to Essendon Fields and not Tullamarine. They are 12 km apart and the fare is very different. We run fixed price transfers to all three.
If your ticket says Geelong, check again. There is no Geelong airport for scheduled flights, and the airport closest to Geelong is Avalon.
